Extraction Manager

job description:

The Extractions Manager (EM) is responsible for all extraction processes, spanning across a variety of extraction methodologies. Overseeing the Extraction Department, the EM is responsible for management of day-to-day operations of the department, employee onboarding and training, product research and development as it relates to cannabis extractions and concentrates, and oversight of inventory


  • Manage a team of trained extraction technicians using ethanol extraction, ethanol recovery, filtration, decarboxylation, degas, and distillation equipment · Optimize the timing of extraction batches to ensure maximum product yield · Work with the Technical writer to create and update SOP’S for current and future processes · Perform extraction in strict adherence with RWB extraction SOP’s · Ensure all products are labeled and logged into BioTrack · Create the maintenance schedule for laboratory equipment · Ensure all equipment maintenance is logged and recorded · Implement, monitor, and perform calibration of lab equipment by establishing and ensuring consistent standards of use · Ensure consumables are ordered in a timely fashion · Facilitating testing of variety of samples with external labs · Delegate tasks to extraction technicians and oversee all on-going QC projects · Assess current and future extraction operations to identify opportunities to enhance overall process efficiency and productivity · Audit production processes to ensure procedures and reports are timely and accurate · Collect, analyze, and present quality data for periodic process review · Review and approve of materials, equipment, and chemicals for use in production areas · Document planned deviations or non-conformities where required · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cannabis regulations and works with the management team to address internal and external audits · Assist with product recall or complaint investigations when necessary · Perform other related duties as required based on business need

This includes ensuring procedures and practices are in place and are being followed · Take responsibility for effectively leading all of the processes. · Focus on maintaining continuous improvement initiatives/activities within the cultivation team. · Ensure compliance of Red White and Bloom Standards · Interact and communicate with cultivation employees to monitor performance, engagement, and employee development · Perform other duties as assigned.
