Director of Marketing

RWB is actively seeking a Director ofMarketing. The Director of Marketing Operations will report into the Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for managing the entire marketing operations department as well as teams that are closely aligned with the marketing and sales departments. The Director of Marketing Operations will monitor, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and programs and work to deliver key insights and recommendations that optimize the performance of the marketing department and marketing programs/campaigns and lead the marketing department in the achievement of its goals.


  • Customer Service-provide a high level of customer service both internally and externally
  • Development of the brand(s) strategy.
  • Develop the Marketing strategy for new and existing products.
  • Oversee the implementation of the marketing strategy ? including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.
  • Work closely with the company?s sales team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with the appropriate tools, materials, and presentations.
  • Guide day to day activities of the marketing team.
  • Ensure that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing teams.
  • Work closely with the facility operations team to increase specific product efficiencies (i.e., Labels, Packaging, etc.).
  • Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition.
  • Develop and deliver marketing and communications strategies for the organization.
  • Undertake continuous analysis of the competitive environment and consumer trends.
  • Manage all aspects of the brand through the supply chain both tangible and intangible.
  • Analyze the brand and current strategy and highlight areas of weakness or conflicting messages.
  • Create a brand plan and brand strategy and ensure all aspects of the product or companies marketing and activities align with the ethos and goals of the brand.
  • Create an enduring brand message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improvement in market share
  • Champion the brand internally making sure all elements of the company understand the brand and its goals
  • Work closely with all parts of the company to ensure commercials goals of the brand are met.
  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Play a key part in buying, sourcing, and manufacturing of the brands products and ensure all aspects of the supply chain align with the brand
  • Develop high quality effective marketing materials that align correctly with the overall brand strategy
  • Create realistic forecasting of sales and volume for the brand ensuring all parts of the company are geared accordingly
  • Manage external agencies and ensure marketing budgets are met
  • Seek out new marketing opportunities that fit with the brand and maximize all opportunities for growth.

  • Demonstrated track record in team building and driving operational efficiencies
  • Experience in the cannabis industry required
  • Experience in the CBD industry a plus
  • Ensure manufacturing environments are brand appropriate (i.e., positive, reassuring, energetic, encouraging, educational and welcoming)
  • Responsible for and working closely with the executive and leadership team
  • Communicate often and effectively cross-functionally to continually educate manufacturing crew regarding product knowledge and brand initiatives
  • High proficiency in Google AdWords, Google Analytics, LinkedIn ads, WordPress, Twitter ads, and Facebook ads as well as being proficient working with tools such as Salesforce, Adobe Campaign etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in offline marketing channels and programs and in budget management/financial analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical skills in quantitative data analysis of program effectiveness, forecasting, and ROI.
  • Highly proficient in Ms Word, PowerPoint, and Ms Excel, which will be necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
  • Proven track record of strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Strong background in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and evolving targets.

You Are ANALYTICAL and RESULTS DRIVEN, constantly analyzing marketing and sales data, developing insights, and presenting recommendations to the leadership and executive team on areas for improvement and optimization.

You Are an EXCELLENT COMMUNICATOR with the ability to build deep relationships across the business, and tailor even the most technical and complex messages in to simple, clear, understandable, and convincing terms.

You Are CREATIVE and STRATEGIC driving strong marketing strategies and availing opportunities that will lead to sales enablement and marketing alignment with processes and initiatives that support exceptional lead management and sales enablement.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related field; Masters is strongly preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Current Driver’s license required
  • Subject to background check per state cannabis requirements
  • Cannabis experience required – success managing multiple brands; CBD experience a plus
  • Team management experience required – creative, design, copy, social media, campaigns etc
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Experience working with an agency required
  • Experience working on corporate brand as well as product brands
  • Ability to travel to LOBs
  • California residency preferred but not required – Can also reside in the following states: Illinois, Michigan, or Florida, or in Toronto, Canada, with the understanding that travel to California will be frequent.
  • At least 7-10 years’ experience of working in Marketing/Marketing Operations
  • Solid experience in CRM solutions, marketing automation, and extended experience working in a digital marketing environment.
  • Experience of implementing marketing best practices and multiple marketing channel execution.
  • Proven experience of successful management of marketing teams and programs.
  • Experience of automation systems such as HubSpot, Eloqua, Marketo etc. with experience of integrating those systems with marketing technologies; and
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment is preferred.
